SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Charles E. Stewart of East Moline who
passed away on September 12, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Charles Stewart was born in Kewanee to Charles C.
and Eta Williams Stewart on February 13, 1925; after high
school, he served in the United States Army Air Corps; he
married Marilyn Duncan in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 2,
1994; and
WHEREAS, Charles Stewart worked in sales for the Bowman
Company for over 28 years; and
WHEREAS, Charles Stewart enjoyed spending time with his
family and traveling with his fifth wheel camper; he was also
the author of several published science fiction and adventure
books; and
WHEREAS, Charles Stewart was preceded in death by his
parents; and his son, Kenneth Stewart; and
WHEREAS, Charles Stewart is survived by his wife, Marilyn;
his children, Marvin (Carol) Stewart, Lori Stewart, Cheryl
Randall, Mark VanDeWalle, and Michael (Karen) VanDeWalle; his

many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister,
Estelle; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Charles E. Stewart, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Charles E. Stewart as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
