SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph Patrick Rubino Sr. of McHenry, who
4passed away on September 3, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was born in Chicago to Dominick and
6Theresa (Fradona) Rubino on March 17, 1931; he married Joan
7Cicero at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Chicago on April 8,
81951; and
9 WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino began his business career at the age
10of 20 when he purchased his first service station; for many
11years, he owned service locations in Chicago, Elmwood Park, and
12Ingleside; after moving to the McHenry area in 1970, he opened
13D & J Auto Parts stores in 1975 and operated locations in
14Crystal Lake, Round Lake, and McHenry; in his later years, he
15was active in the real estate market; and
16 WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was a longtime member of St. Patrick
17Catholic Church in McHenry; he was also a member of the Knights
18of Columbus Council 9167 at St. John the Baptist Church; he was
19a fourth degree knight of the Bishop Boylan Assembly; he
20enjoyed traveling in his motor home, boating, and spending time
21with his family and friends; and

1 WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was preceded in death by his
2grandson, Nicholas Rubino; his brother, Nick Rubino; and his
3sisters, Rose Taylor and Eva Witzak; and
4 WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino is survived by his wife of 66 years,
5Joan; his children, Therese "Terri" Rubino-Goerdt, Dominick
6(Karen) Rubino, and Joseph Jr. (Sarah) Rubino; his
7grandchildren, Chris Goerdt, Tom (Lauren) Goerdt, Jason (Jodi)
8Rubino, Andrew Rubino, Andy Rubino, and Gina Rubino; his
9great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Ben, and Grant; and his
10sister-in-law, Helen Rubino; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Joseph Patrick Rubino Sr., and extend our sincere condolences
14to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
15it further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Joseph Rubino as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
