| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Joseph Patrick Rubino Sr. of McHenry, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on September 3, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was born in Chicago to Dominick and | ||||||
| 6 | Theresa (Fradona) Rubino on March 17, 1931; he married Joan | ||||||
| 7 | Cicero at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Chicago on April 8, | ||||||
| 8 | 1951; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino began his business career at the age | ||||||
| 10 | of 20 when he purchased his first service station; for many | ||||||
| 11 | years, he owned service locations in Chicago, Elmwood Park, and | ||||||
| 12 | Ingleside; after moving to the McHenry area in 1970, he opened | ||||||
| 13 | D & J Auto Parts stores in 1975 and operated locations in | ||||||
| 14 | Crystal Lake, Round Lake, and McHenry; in his later years, he | ||||||
| 15 | was active in the real estate market; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was a longtime member of St. Patrick | ||||||
| 17 | Catholic Church in McHenry; he was also a member of the Knights | ||||||
| 18 | of Columbus Council 9167 at St. John the Baptist Church; he was | ||||||
| 19 | a fourth degree knight of the Bishop Boylan Assembly; he | ||||||
| 20 | enjoyed traveling in his motor home, boating, and spending time | ||||||
| 21 | with his family and friends; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 2 | grandson, Nicholas Rubino; his brother, Nick Rubino; and his | ||||||
| 3 | sisters, Rose Taylor and Eva Witzak; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Joseph Rubino is survived by his wife of 66 years, | ||||||
| 5 | Joan; his children, Therese "Terri" Rubino-Goerdt, Dominick | ||||||
| 6 | (Karen) Rubino, and Joseph Jr. (Sarah) Rubino; his | ||||||
| 7 | grandchildren, Chris Goerdt, Tom (Lauren) Goerdt, Jason (Jodi) | ||||||
| 8 | Rubino, Andrew Rubino, Andy Rubino, and Gina Rubino; his | ||||||
| 9 | great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Ben, and Grant; and his | ||||||
| 10 | sister-in-law, Helen Rubino; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 13 | Joseph Patrick Rubino Sr., and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 14 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 15 | it further
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Joseph Rubino as an expression of | ||||||
| 18 | our deepest sympathy.
