SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Forrest R. Knapp of Woodstock, who passed
away on July 25, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Forrest Knapp was born in Carpentersville to Guy
and Betty (Umathum) Knapp on September 20, 1923; he attended
Woodstock High School until age 17 when he was recruited for
military service; he was part of the United States Army Air
Corps and was stationed in Hawaii, serving two tours until
March 6, 1946; he married Lillian Rasmussen in Woodstock on
September 7, 1948; and
WHEREAS, Forrest Knapp was a lifetime member for over 50
years of the Woodstock Moose Club; he enjoyed recalling stories
from the past and sharing them with those he loved; he also
enjoyed old cars, airplanes, and gardening; and
WHEREAS, Forrest Knapp was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Lillian; his brother, Robert Knapp; and his
sister, Gene Hauser; and
WHEREAS, Forrest Knapp is survived by his son, Richard
(Teresia) Knapp; his grandchildren, Patrick Adcock, Shannon
Adcock, and David Adcock; and his great-grandchildren,

Savannah Adcock, Mikayla Adcock, and Dylan Faughn; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Forrest R. Knapp, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Forrest Knapp as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
