| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" Buss of East Moline, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on October 9, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gene Buss was born in Blue Island to Daniel I. and | ||||||
| 6 | Ruth Hiemstra Buss on November 3, 1945; he served in the United | ||||||
| 7 | States Army from 1965 to 1966 and married Beverly Dietrich on | ||||||
| 8 | July 14, 1968; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Gene Buss was self-employed as a safety officer | ||||||
| 10 | and a consultant; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Gene Buss was a true outdoorsman; he was a | ||||||
| 12 | woodcarver and enjoyed cast iron cooking, shooting, camping, | ||||||
| 13 | fishing, and hunting; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Gene Buss was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 15 | Beverly, and his brothers, Daniel R. and Clifford D. Buss; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Gene Buss is survived by his children, Michelle | ||||||
| 17 | (Ron) Shong, Aaron (Vicky) Buss, Brad Buss, and Dave (Sarah) | ||||||
| 18 | Buss; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his | ||||||
| 19 | mother, Ruth Buss; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 3 | Eugene "Gene" Buss and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Gene Buss as an expression of our | ||||||
| 8 | deepest sympathy.
