2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Carol R. Marks of Wood River, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on July 22, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Carol Marks was born in Wood River to Paul and | ||||||
6 | Lucille (Davis) Heathcott on August 14, 1936; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Carol Marks retired as an office clerk with the | ||||||
8 | Madison County Recorder of Deeds; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Carol Marks was a member of the Bethalto Church of | ||||||
10 | God, where she taught the Senior Sunday School class for | ||||||
11 | several years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Carol Marks was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
13 | her son, Eddie Marks; her former husband, Bill Marks; her | ||||||
14 | stepmother, Harriott Heathcott; and her brother-in-law, Edwin | ||||||
15 | Marks; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Carol Marks is survived by her daughter, Paula | ||||||
17 | (Tom) Carach; her sons, Fred Marks, Marty (Julie) Marks, and | ||||||
18 | Harry (Barb) Marks; nine grandchildren; nine | ||||||
19 | great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ron Heathcott and Dale | ||||||
20 | (Susie) Heathcott; her uncle and aunt, Jim and Katie Davis; her |

1 | aunt, Barbara Edgar; her sister-in-law, Pat Marks; her dear | ||||||
2 | friend who was like a sister, Rachel Wiggins; and several | ||||||
3 | nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Carol R. Marks, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
