SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Chester B. "Chet" Zyskowski of Woodstock,
4who passed away on July 15, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Chester Zyskowski was born in Chicago to Nikodem
6and Cecilia (Grabowski) Zyskowski on May 14, 1928; he attended
7St. Bruno School in Chicago and then St. Rita High School; he
8served as a staff sergeant in the United States Army during the
9Korean War; he graduated from Ferris College, where he earned
10his Bachelor of Science and registered pharmacist
11certification; he married Jean Sochacki on October 8, 1955; and
12 WHEREAS, Chester Zyskowski managed the pharmacy in the
13K-Mart store in Woodstock for many years; and
14 WHEREAS, Before moving to the Woodstock area, Chester
15Zyskowski served as president of the home owners association at
16Foster Harlem in Chicago; he was a member of St. Mary Catholic
17Church in Woodstock, the P.A.P.A., the Woodstock VFW, and the
18Woodstock Moose, where he called bingo games for many years; he
19volunteered at Meals on Wheels and worked to bring the Dick
20Tracy Days Celebration back to Woodstock; he was a contestant
21on Wheel of Fortune and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and

1 WHEREAS, Chester Zyskowski was preceded in death by his
2parents; his daughter, Diane; his brothers, Cornelius (Joe) and
3Stanley (Edmund); and his sisters, Mary, Gertrude, and Cecilia;
4and
5 WHEREAS, Chester Zyskowski is survived by his wife of 61
6years, Jean; his sons, Cliff (Becky) and Phillip (Jean)
7Zyskowski; his daughter, Judith Marie Zyskowski; his
8grandchildren, Jared (Lisa) Zystro, Mindy, Joseph, Nicholas,
9Sam, and Jackson; and his great-grandchild, Toby Zystro;
10therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Chester B. "Chet" Zyskowski, and extend our sincere condolences
14to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
15it further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Chester Zyskowski as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
