SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Leonard L. "Bud" Nerge of Harvard, who
passed away on July 8, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Nerge was born in Elmhurst to Louis and
Ida (Edecker) Nerge on June 15, 1930; he joined the United
States Army in 1954 and married Dorothy Hachmeister in Addison
on June 15, 1958; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Nerge was a member of St. Paul Lutheran
Church in Harvard, the McHenry County Farm Bureau, and the
Woodstock V.F.W.; he was also involved in the Harvard Milk
Day's festivities and was a volunteer firefighter for the Rural
Harvard Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Nerge enjoyed dancing, old time music, and
reading his farm magazines; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Nerge was preceded in death by his
parents; his brother, Stuart Nerge; and his sisters, Floretta
Clausing and Ramona Gieseke; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Nerge is survived by his wife, Dorothy;
his children, Duane Nerge and Cindy (Carl) Gnewuch; and his

grandchildren, Stephanie, Mark, and Kyle Gnewuch; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Leonard L. "Bud" Nerge, and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Leonard Nerge as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
