SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Robert "Robbie" J. Pierce of McHenry, who
passed away on June 27, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pierce was born in Woodstock to William E.
Sr. and Catherine R. (Woolfe) Pierce on July 15, 1954; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pierce was born with Down Syndrome; his
parents were instrumental with the startup of the Pioneer
Center in McHenry, with their son being one of their original
clients; he enjoyed working at the Pioneer Center fish boils;
he was proud of his job bagging groceries at Jewel until his
retirement; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pierce loved to fish, ride horses, and bowl
as part of the Special Olympics team; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pierce was preceded in death by his
parents; his brother, William Pierce Jr.; and his nephew,
David; and
WHEREAS, Robert Pierce is survived by his sister, Kathy
(Gene Church) Dam; his brother, John "Jack" (Barbara) Pierce;
and his nieces and nephews, John, Joe, Jean, Joan, and Debbie;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Robert "Robbie" J. Pierce, and extend our sincere condolences
to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Robert Pierce as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
