2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Thaddeus "Ted" V. Killian of Waukegan, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on June 9, 2017 at the age of 94; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian was born in North Chicago to John | ||||||
6 | and Mary Killian in 1922; he was a member of the Civilian | ||||||
7 | Conservation Corps and served in the United States Army during | ||||||
8 | World War II; he married Rose Valencic in Waukegan at Mother of | ||||||
9 | God Church in 1947; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian began his career with Johns | ||||||
11 | Manville; he then worked for the United States Steel | ||||||
12 | Corporation until his retirement in 1979; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian was an active member of the | ||||||
14 | American-Croatian Waukegan Tamburitzans, the United | ||||||
15 | Steelworkers, and Queen of Peace Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian was a dedicated and hard working | ||||||
17 | husband, father, grandfather, great-grandpa, uncle, and | ||||||
18 | brother; he spent his entire life living independently; he | ||||||
19 | especially enjoyed dancing, listening to music, golfing, | ||||||
20 | working on home improvement, woodworking projects, and | ||||||
21 | spending time with family; and

1 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian especially appreciated the | ||||||
2 | loving care of his family, the Haroian family, and his | ||||||
3 | caregivers, Linda Ridley and Betty Wiley; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; his wife of almost 60 years, Rose; his son-in-law, | ||||||
6 | Dennis Cobb; his siblings, Steffie (Al) Swirski, Frank (Mary) | ||||||
7 | Killian, John Killian, Lillian (Lester) Curry, and Chester | ||||||
8 | (Zenia) Killian; his niece, Kathy Kudra; and his nephew, Kevin | ||||||
9 | Killian; and

10 | WHEREAS, Thaddeus Killian is survived by his children, Ted | ||||||
11 | (Gerrine) Killian and Diane Cobb; his grandchildren, Danielle | ||||||
12 | Killian, Michael Killian, Jaime (Kris Sturgell) Rukstales, | ||||||
13 | Julie Hughes, Jennifer (Rick) Bentley, and Bryan (Nicole) Cobb; | ||||||
14 | his great-grandchildren, Charlie Hughes, Alysen Cobb, and | ||||||
15 | baby-to-be, Bentley; his brothers, Walter Killian and Leo | ||||||
16 | (Dolores) Killian; his sister-in-law, Helen Killian; and many | ||||||
17 | nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Thaddeus "Ted" V. Killian, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
21 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
22 | it further
