| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Duane H. Cunningham of East Moline, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on August 12, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Duane Cunningham was born in Mountain Grove, | ||||||
| 6 | Missouri to Archie and Pearl (Sanders) Cunningham on June 21, | ||||||
| 7 | 1924; he served in the United States Army during World War II | ||||||
| 8 | and was stationed in Germany, Austria, Texas, and California; | ||||||
| 9 | he married Lois Heatherly in Arkansas in 1945; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Duane Cunningham worked at the Rock Island Arsenal | ||||||
| 11 | and retired in 1972; he then worked as a manager at Roadside | ||||||
| 12 | Auto; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Duane Cunningham had a strong faith and was | ||||||
| 14 | instrumental in forming the Sycamore Reformed Baptist Church in | ||||||
| 15 | East Moline; he was great at fixing things around the house; he | ||||||
| 16 | was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with | ||||||
| 17 | his many good friends and loved ones; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Duane Cunningham was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | daughter, Donna Cunningham; and his brothers, Elmo and Donald | ||||||
| 20 | "Genie" Cunningham; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Duane Cunningham is survived by his wife of 74 | ||||||
| 2 | years, Lois; his daughters, Evelyn Barry and Karen Cunningham; | ||||||
| 3 | and his brother, Robert Cunningham; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | Duane H. Cunningham and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Duane Cunningham as an expression of | ||||||
| 11 | our deepest sympathy.
