2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joseph R. "Joe" Veronda of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 31, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joe Veronda was born in Rock Island to John and | ||||||
6 | Josephine (Huber) Veronda on July 23, 1939; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Rock Island High School in 1957; he served in the United States | ||||||
8 | Air Force; he married Patricia Price in 1962; he later married | ||||||
9 | Patricia (Hibernik) Edlund in Rock Island on December 31, 1996; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Joe Veronda retired from Navistar in 1992 after 30 | ||||||
12 | years of service; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Joe Veronda was an avid fan of the New York | ||||||
14 | Yankees; he enjoyed cooking and crossword puzzles and was an | ||||||
15 | avid reader; most of all, he loved spending time with his wife | ||||||
16 | and family; and

17 | WHEREAS, Joe Veronda was preceded in death by his brothers, | ||||||
18 | Edward and Jake; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Joe Veronda is survived by his wife, Patricia; his | ||||||
20 | children, Jill (Gregory) Raisbeck, Joseph (Kelly) Veronda, |

1 | Paul (Crystal) Veronda, Patrick (Stefanie) Veronda, and Meg | ||||||
2 | (Kurt) Davis; his 13 grandchildren; his sister, Joanne (Don) | ||||||
3 | Sharp; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Joseph R. "Joe" Veronda and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
7 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
