SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eleni Stacy Camino of Lake Forest, who
4passed away on June 3, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to
6Dorothy Georges and Constantine Stacy on August 8, 1939; she
7graduated from Downers Grove High School and Lake Forest
8College; and
9 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino taught elementary school in
10Milwaukee, where she met her husband of 52 years, Michael R.
11Camino, on a blind date; and
12 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino served on the board of the Lake
13Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago for
14over 45 years; she was a past president and was instrumental in
15creating the bi-annual Showhouse & Gardens; she also served on
16the boards of the Junior Garden Club of Lake Forest and the
17Women's Board of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital; and
18 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino had a passion for interior design;
19her interest in collecting vintage and fine antiques led her to
20start a small business selling her finds in antique shops for
21over 12 years; of all her roles, her favorites were "Nanie" to

1her grandchildren, mom, wife, and aunt; and
2 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino was preceded in death by her parents
3and her brother, Peter (Doris) Stacy; and
4 WHEREAS, Eleni Camino is survived by her husband, Michael;
5her daughters, Jennifer (Chapin) Mower, Courtney (Charles)
6Petit, and Stephanie (Nate) Wolverton; and her grandchildren
7Trevor, Caroline, Victoria, Alexandra, and Elizabeth; and her
8sister, Vivian (Michael) Eacarrino; therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Eleni Stacy Camino, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Eleni Camino as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
