2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Shirley Kelling Miller of Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 1, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was born on August 27, 1925, in | ||||||
6 | Chicago; she was the daughter of Edwin H. and Berenice Fern | ||||||
7 | Kelling; she married Don M. Miller on July 12, 1947, in Peoria; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller graduated from St. Cecilia Grade | ||||||
10 | School and Academy of Our Lady High School; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was employed as an executive | ||||||
12 | secretary at multiple locations, including the Hotel Pere | ||||||
13 | Marquette and the Catholic Diocese of Peoria; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was a member of St. Vincent de Paul | ||||||
15 | Catholic Church and the Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, | ||||||
16 | Beta Iota Chapter; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller loved traveling and playing | ||||||
18 | pinochle; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller was preceded in death by her |

1 | parents and her brother, Edwin "Bud" Kelling; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Shirley Miller is survived by her husband, Don; | ||||||
3 | her daughters, Barbara Miller and Christine Sinclair; her | ||||||
4 | son-in-law, Jim Sinclair; and her grandchildren, Michael, | ||||||
5 | Elizabeth, David, and Daniel Sinclair; therefore, be it
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
8 | her family and friends, the passing of Shirley Kelling Miller; | ||||||
9 | and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Shirley Miller as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our sympathy.
