SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Howard J. Goodwin of Beach Park, who
passed away on May 14, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was born in Winthrop Harbor to
Howard and Frances Goodwin on November 2, 1935 and served with
the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin retired from the Outboard Marine
Corporation in Waukegan in 1995 after 22 years of service,
where he was the supervisor for 12 years; he also worked as a
plasterer for various companies in the area over the years; and
WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was a member of Lakeview Church in
Zion and enjoyed gardening and fishing; and
WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin was preceded in death by his son,
Timothy John Goodwin; his parents; two brothers; and two
sisters; and
WHEREAS, Howard Goodwin is survived by his wife of 56
years, Kathleen; his children, Amy (Thomas) Barber, Howard C.
Goodwin, and Heather (Robert) Kukla; six grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and his brother, Charles (Mary) Goodwin;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Howard J. Goodwin, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Howard Goodwin as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
