| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Ruth N. Hammons of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on May 11, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was born in Springfield to Herbert | ||||||
| 6 | and Carrie Cook Holman on July 4, 1932; she married George D. | ||||||
| 7 | Hammons Jr. in Springfield on June 25, 1955; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was an accounting clerk with the | ||||||
| 9 | State of Illinois Attorney General's Office for over 20 years, | ||||||
| 10 | retiring in 1981; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons enjoyed camping all over the United | ||||||
| 12 | States and spending time with her family; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
| 14 | George, and her sister, Mary Richmond; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons is survived by her son, Anthony O. | ||||||
| 16 | (Terri) Hammons; her daughters, Jennifer (Rev. Robert) Timms | ||||||
| 17 | and Denise A. Hammons; her grandchildren, Anthony Hammons Jr., | ||||||
| 18 | Akeyla Timms, India Hammons, Robert Timms Jr., Tanesha Stoner, | ||||||
| 19 | and Aiisha Stoner; and three great-grandchildren; therefore, | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 3 | Ruth N. Hammons, and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further

| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
