2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lawrence J. Coussens of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 6, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was born in Rock Island to | ||||||
6 | Albert D. and Elizabeth (Muylle) Coussens on September 25, | ||||||
7 | 1926; he served in the United States Navy and married Norma | ||||||
8 | Jean Biscontine at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island | ||||||
9 | on October 10, 1953; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was employed as a machinist at | ||||||
11 | the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1984; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was a member of St. Mary | ||||||
13 | Catholic Church in Moline; he enjoyed boxing movies, collecting | ||||||
14 | miniature vintage cars, and gardening; he loved family | ||||||
15 | gatherings and was a member of American Legion Post 246 in | ||||||
16 | Moline; and

17 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Coussens is survived by his wife, Norma; | ||||||
20 | his children, Denise (Dale) Standard, Jeff (Heather) Coussens, |

| |||||||
1 | and Annette (Mark) Drobushevich; his grandchildren, Emily | ||||||
2 | (Chad) Brownfield, Adam (Saki) Stone, Jessy Bartz, Ben Bartz, | ||||||
3 | Ava Coussens, and Chase Coussens; and his first | ||||||
4 | great-grandchild, Stone, expected in the fall; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Lawrence J. Coussens, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Lawrence Coussens as an expression | ||||||
12 | of our deepest sympathy.
