1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Chloe Arloine Trautman of Champaign, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 6, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman was born in Urbana to David W. | ||||||
6 | "Bud" and Benita "Bee" (Schulz) Reichard on June 30, 1927; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Urbana High School in 1945 and attended the | ||||||
8 | Illinois Commercial Business College and the University of | ||||||
9 | Illinois; she married J.M. "Mike" Trautman in 1956; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman had a bookkeeping/accounting | ||||||
11 | practice for many years and established her own income tax | ||||||
12 | preparation business called the Tax Shop in 1967; she loved | ||||||
13 | seeing her customers and reminiscing about their lives and | ||||||
14 | preparing taxes every season into her 88th year; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman would go swimming or ride her | ||||||
16 | stationary bicycle every day; she enjoyed golfing for many | ||||||
17 | years with her friends at the Champaign Country Club; she was | ||||||
18 | an American Contract Bridge League Gold Life Master bridge | ||||||
19 | player and authored a book about her passion and taught bridge | ||||||
20 | for many years at the Urbana High Adult Education school; she | ||||||
21 | enjoyed playing bridge online with the likes of Omar Sharif and | ||||||
22 | many others around the world; her children were her joy in |

1 | life, and she generously gave them all she could to set them on | ||||||
2 | the right path for the future; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman loved ice skating with her father | ||||||
4 | and loved driving friends and family on outings and trips in | ||||||
5 | her motorhome; she would often vacation at her part-time home | ||||||
6 | in Sarasota with her girlfriends; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman was preceded in death by her | ||||||
8 | parents; her sister, Arloine; and her brother, David Reichard; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Chloe Trautman is survived by her husband, Mike; | ||||||
11 | her children, Dr. Michael (Jolie) Trautman, Phil Trautman, | ||||||
12 | David (Karen) Trautman, Charles Trautman, Michelle Trautman, | ||||||
13 | and Babette (Rick) Paige; her grandchildren, P.J. Trautman, | ||||||
14 | Jake Trautman, Chloe Trautman, Joshua Paige, and Reece Paige; | ||||||
15 | therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Chloe Arloine Trautman and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
19 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
20 | further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
