| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of David "Dave" A. Juelich of | ||||||
4 | Springfield, who passed away on July 17, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dave Juelich was born to Charles and Lena Juelich | ||||||
6 | in Springfield on June 29, 1942; he served his country in the | ||||||
7 | United States Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1959 to | ||||||
8 | 1964; he was awarded a scholarship to attend Oklahoma State | ||||||
9 | University to study Fire Protection Technology in 1966; he | ||||||
10 | married Marjorie Gibson on March 7, 1970; he completed his | ||||||
11 | bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Sangamon State | ||||||
12 | University in 1984 and completed his masters' degree in 1985; | ||||||
13 | and

14 | WHEREAS, Dave Juelich was appointed as a firefighter to | ||||||
15 | the Springfield Fire Department in 1964; he later served as a | ||||||
16 | safety engineer with the Mann-Kline Insurance Company in | ||||||
17 | Kansas City, Missouri, Topeka, Kansas, Honolulu, Hawaii, and | ||||||
18 | various other cities; he was reinstated to the Springfield | ||||||
19 | Fire Department and retired in 1979 as a captain; in 1986, he | ||||||
20 | founded Environmental Safety Consultants (ESC, LTD.) and | ||||||
21 | consulted with school districts throughout Illinois for | ||||||
22 | asbestos management plans, abatement, and environmental | ||||||
23 | issues; he served as president of ESC and retired in 2017; and

1 | WHEREAS, Dave Juelich's fondest memories were of the | ||||||
2 | winters he spent in Naples, Florida, where he enjoyed fishing | ||||||
3 | on his boat with his grandchildren and riding in the Gulf of | ||||||
4 | Mexico with friends; and

5 | WHEREAS, Dave Juelich is survived by his wife of 51 years, | ||||||
6 | Marjorie; his children, Lisa (Kevin) Graham, Brent (Dr. Paula) | ||||||
7 | Juelich, and Tracy (John) Hayes; and his nine grandchildren, | ||||||
8 | JP, Tim, Matthew, and Nathan Graham, Ethan and Ryan Hayes, and | ||||||
9 | Amanda, David, and Gracie Juelich; therefore, be it
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
12 | David "Dave" A. Juelich and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
13 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
14 | further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to the family of Dave Juelich as an expression of our | ||||||
17 | deepest sympathy.
