SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Carla Sue Sleeter of Alhambra, who
passed away on July 3, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was born in Belleville on February
11, 1970; she was a 1988 graduate of Collinsville High School
where she won awards for speed typing; she was an avid softball
player; she received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a
Master of Arts in International Affairs from Washington
University; she married Kenneth Sleeter of Collinsville in
1995; and
WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter began working for Wells Fargo
Advisors in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1997; most recently, she
was a managing director and led a team of 45 investment
professionals focused on securities research; and
WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was a member of the Senior
Leadership Forum and the Women's Team Member Network and was
vice-chair of the firm's Investment Policy Committee; in
addition, she was a member of the Association for Investment
Management and Research and the St. Louis Society of Financial
Analysts and a CFA charterholder; and

WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter and her family loved outdoor
activities including camping, hiking, gardening, and
especially kayaking, which she did nearly every day at home;
she loved to travel and explore new places; she enjoyed family
vacations around the world in addition to many one-on-one
trips with each of her family members; she was hard-working,
confident, and intelligent and had a smile that brightened
every room; and
WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter was preceded in death by her
father, Chita Wayne White; and
WHEREAS, Carla Sleeter is survived by her husband,
Kenneth; her son, Kent; her daughter, Corinne; her mother,
Janet "Gail" White; her brother, Wayne White (Renee); her
niece, Brooklynn; her nephews, Braden and Chance; her
mother-in-law, Gloria Sleeter; and her many relatives and
friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Carla Sue Sleeter and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
