2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of David Roarke Wilson; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, David Wilson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to | ||||||
5 | Bobby and Bessie Wilson on February 17, 1968; his family | ||||||
6 | relocated to Chicago, and he attended Reformation Lutheran | ||||||
7 | Elementary School; he loved the outdoors and football and was | ||||||
8 | an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of
America; he graduated | ||||||
9 | from Morgan Park High School
in 1986 and attended Johnson C. | ||||||
10 | Smith University in North Carolina as a student athlete; he | ||||||
11 | later returned home and finished his post secondary education | ||||||
12 | at North Park College, earning a
bachelor's degree in 1991; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, David Wilson started his career on the | ||||||
15 | communications staff of the Illinois General Assembly in 1993
| ||||||
16 | under the leadership of Senate President Emil Jones Jr.; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, David Wilson married Aldine
Harris in September | ||||||
18 | of 2000; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, David Wilson worked for other organizations, | ||||||
20 | including the Illinois Federation of Teachers,
the Schneider | ||||||
21 | Corporation, the Rainbow Push Coalition, and the United States |

1 | Census Bureau; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, David Wilson enjoyed spending time with family | ||||||
3 | and friends, especially childhood and lifetime friends Kevin,
| ||||||
4 | Stanley, and Mark; he enjoyed house music, history, and being | ||||||
5 | silly; he and his family joined Lutheran Church of the Holy | ||||||
6 | Spirit in 2006; he will
forever be remembered for his sense of | ||||||
7 | humor, his love for family and friends, and his laughter; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, David Wilson was preceded in death by his son, | ||||||
9 | Alexander Wilson; his father,
Bobby Wilson; and his | ||||||
10 | mother-in-law, Willa Harris; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, David Wilson is survived by his wife, Aldine; his | ||||||
12 | daughter, Amber McClatchey Wilson;
his son, Aiden Wilson; his | ||||||
13 | mother, Bessie Wilson; his brother, Robert Wilson; his sister, | ||||||
14 | Diane Wilson; his pets, Thor and
Thunder; his mother-in-law, | ||||||
15 | Jeanette Harris;
his father-in-law, Sam Harris Sr.; his | ||||||
16 | brother-in-law, Sam (Brenda) Harris Jr.; his sister-in-law, | ||||||
17 | Michelle
(Steve) Hough; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, | ||||||
18 | nieces, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
21 | David Roarke Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
22 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
