| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Kenneth Self, formerly of Waukegan, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on February 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Self was born and raised in Tellico | ||||||
| 6 | Plains, Tennessee; he married Yvonne Murphy in 1964; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Self was a professional driver and retired | ||||||
| 8 | from bus driving after a 30-year career; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Self was a local legend and master | ||||||
| 10 | mechanic; he custom built his own Triumph motorcycles and | ||||||
| 11 | collected 1969 Mustangs from all over the United States, | ||||||
| 12 | restoring them to factory condition; he won numerous trophies | ||||||
| 13 | at auto shows; he also enjoyed traveling, old movies, and | ||||||
| 14 | history; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Self was preceded in death by his parents, | ||||||
| 16 | Robert Lester and Ersa Jean (Akins) Self, and his brother, | ||||||
| 17 | William Self; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Kenneth Self is survived by his wife of 53 years, | ||||||
| 19 | Yvonne; his son, Kenneth John Self; his daughters, Justine | ||||||
| 20 | (Steve) Kevek, and Kathleen Wilson (Andrew Liston); his | ||||||

| 1 | grandchildren, Kenneth (Kathryn) Klomp, John Ken Self, Clara | ||||||
| 2 | Kevek, and Mary Kevek; his great-granddaughter, Kayla Rose | ||||||
| 3 | Klomp; his brothers, Chuck Self, and Robert (Trish) Self; his | ||||||
| 4 | sisters, Pat Carey, and Lois Preston; his favorite uncle, Bill | ||||||
| 5 | (Margaret) Akins; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, | ||||||
| 6 | be it

| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Kenneth Self, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 10 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Kenneth Self as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | deepest sympathy.
