2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dorothy "Dottie" Parsons-Freeman of | ||||||
4 | Alton, who passed away on February 18, 2017 at the age of 81; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was born in Alton to | ||||||
7 | Walter and Kathleen (King) Stilwell on December 18, 1935; she | ||||||
8 | married Ronald L. Parsons on October 11, 1953, and later | ||||||
9 | married Elbert "Tot" Freeman on December 26, 2004; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman graduated from Marquette | ||||||
11 | Catholic High School in 1953; she was a very active member of | ||||||
12 | Ss. Peter & Paul Proto-Cathedral in Alton, and volunteered at | ||||||
13 | the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate in Godfrey; and

14 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was preceded in death by | ||||||
15 | her parents; her first husband, Ronald; and a brother, John | ||||||
16 | Stilwell; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman is survived by her | ||||||
18 | husband, Elbert; three daughters, Deborah (Kevin) | ||||||
19 | Stahlschmidt, Nancy Kilmer, and Susan (Gary) Dyer; one son, Tom | ||||||
20 | (Ann) Parsons; one stepdaughter, Ann (Spencer) Duncan; three | ||||||
21 | stepsons, John Freeman, David Freeman, and Daniel (Sandy) |
