| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Pontiac Correctional Center has received IEPA |
| 3 | | violations on water quality; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, The Pontiac Correctional Center has had multiple |
| 5 | | assaults on staff by inmates in 2023; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, In 2022, the Executive Inspector General released |
| 7 | | a report on the work environment at the Pontiac Correctional |
| 8 | | Center that noted cases of sexual harassment; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, In December of 2022, officers at the Pontiac |
| 10 | | Correctional Center staged a picket in protest of unsafe |
| 11 | | working conditions; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we call upon the |
| 14 | | Department Of Corrections to provide a long-term plan for the |
| 15 | | Pontiac Correctional Center that includes the following: |
| 16 | | (1) Plans for physical facilities/buildings, including |
| 17 | | maintenance needs and any repair projects planned or |
| 18 | | building closures; |
| 19 | | (2) Planned staffing levels; |
| 20 | | (3) Planned inmate population levels; and |
| 21 | | (3) An analysis of how the Pontiac Correctional Center |
