SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marjorie P. Bogart, who passed away on
4February 2, 2017 at the age of 92; and
5 WHEREAS, Marjorie Bogart was born in Murrayville to Harvey
6and Josephine (Wilson) Hayes on February 28, 1924; and
7 WHEREAS, Marjorie Bogart attended Main Street Methodist
8Church in Alton; she spent several years working for GTE,
9relocating to Buffalo, New York, before returning to the
10Midwest in 1974; while in the Bloomington/Normal area, she made
11many lasting friendships including those from Crestwicke
12Country Club that continued for the rest of her life; she began
13her own cosmetic and color analysis business in 1982, and
14eventually relocated to Godfrey where she joined her daughters
15at Josephine's Tea Rooms & Gift Shops; she enjoyed many years
16developing and preparing the very popular "fashion shows" in
17the tea room and will always be remembered for her passion for
18fashion, although family was always her first love; and
19 WHEREAS, Marjorie Bogart was preceded in death by her
20husband; her two brothers, Murell and Maurice Hayes; and her
21sister, Francis Grimm; and

1 WHEREAS, Marjorie Bogart is survived by her two daughters,
2Sandra (Bob) Cleveland, and Sherri (Fred) Whitworth; her
3grandchildren, Troy Whitworth and Cindy Lendhart, Scott and
4Dusty Whitworth, Jamie and Ryan O'Day, Jason and Jeanne
5Cleveland, Jenny Cleveland, and Ed Heath; two siblings, Agusta
6Zeisel and Lena Deitz; her eight great-grandchildren; and
7several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Marjorie P. Bogart, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Marjorie Bogart as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
