SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Marion E. O'Connell of Waukegan, who
passed away on February 1, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Marion O'Connell was born in Chicago to Clyde and
Grace Monnier on February 26, 1928; and
WHEREAS, Marion O'Connell worked in the transportation
department of the Veterans Administration Hospital, retiring
in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Marion O'Connell enjoyed playing bingo and loved
her "puppies" who were always at her side; and
WHEREAS, Marion O'Connell was preceded in death by her
husband, Jerry; her daughter, LaVerne; her parents; her sister,
Charlotte Barrett; her brother-in-law, Phil Barrett; and her
sister-in-law, Sally; and
WHEREAS, Marion O'Connell is survived by her children,
Diane (Bert) Tarnowske, Bob (Deb) O'Connell, and Jerry, Dan,
and Michelle (Bill) Stolarik; 14 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; her brother, Clyde Monnier; her sisters,
Jean (Ed) Hopkins, and Sharon (Bob) Kozlowski; and many nieces,

nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Marion E. O'Connell, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Marion O'Connell as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
