2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk of Madison, | ||||||
4 | Indiana, who passed away on January 17, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was born in Deputy, Indiana to | ||||||
6 | William Morris "Billy" and Betty Marie Field Nay on January 30, | ||||||
7 | 1941; she graduated from Deputy High School and Hanover College | ||||||
8 | with a bachelor's degree in education; she later completed her | ||||||
9 | master's degree at Indiana University; she married the Reverend | ||||||
10 | Dr. John Paul Kaitschuk on June 18, 1965; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk taught eighth grade English at St. | ||||||
12 | Joseph in Olney; after moving to Springfield, she taught junior | ||||||
13 | high school at Williamsville; she and her family lived in | ||||||
14 | Madison, Indiana from 1962 to 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana | ||||||
15 | from 1970 to 1976, in Olney from 1976 to 1987, and finally in | ||||||
16 | Springfield from 1987 to 2015; she moved to Madison, Indiana in | ||||||
17 | late 2015, where she lived the remainder of her life to be near | ||||||
18 | her mother and family; and

19 | WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk loved caring for her grandsons in | ||||||
20 | Springfield and watching her grandchildren grow; she adored | ||||||
21 | teaching and seeing her students thrive; her quick wit kept | ||||||
22 | family and friends entertained, and a wicked sense of humor |

1 | kept everyone around her laughing; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk was preceded in death by her | ||||||
3 | father, William Morris "Billy" Nay, and her husband, John; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Janet Kaitschuk is survived by her daughter, | ||||||
5 | Jennifer L. Kaitschuk (Scott Runyon); her son, James "Jim" M. | ||||||
6 | (Angela) Kaitschuk; her granddaughter, Grace Froehlich; her | ||||||
7 | grandsons, Jack and Sam Kaitschuk; her mother, Betty Nay; her | ||||||
8 | brothers, Richard E. "Dick" (Sherry) Nay, James L. "Joe" (Mary | ||||||
9 | Lou) Nay, and Clifford D. "Duke" (Sue) Nay; her sister, Donna | ||||||
10 | S. (Joe) Nay Godward; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Janice | ||||||
11 | Kaitschuk; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; | ||||||
12 | therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Janet Ann Nay Kaitschuk, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
16 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Janet Kaitschuk as an expression of | ||||||
