SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Felice Elka Witmer, who passed away on
April 19, 2019 at the age of 72; and
WHEREAS, Felice Witmer was born in San Angelo, Texas to
Herman "Tommy" Monroe Starer and Edith Althea Starer; and
WHEREAS, Felice Witmer married the love of her life,
Herman "Harry" John Witmer, on October 17, 1970; they were
together for 48 and a half years; and
WHEREAS, Felice Witmer and her husband Harry lived in Oak
Park for many years; and
WHEREAS, Felice Witmer worked as a medical practice
manager in the Chicago area for 35 years; as a dedicated
worker, she received commendations from the State of Illinois
for her work; and
WHEREAS, Above all, Felice Witmer was a strong family
woman who made sure all were loved and well-fed; she was an
excellent cook known for her hoagie sandwiches, Italian
meatballs, and matzo ball soup; and

WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Felice Witmer was
survived by her husband, Herman Witmer; her children, Rachel
Witmer and John (Stephanie) Witmer; and her grandchildren,
Emma Thompson, Henry Thompson, Derek Witmer, Megan Witmer, and
Tyler Witmer; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Felice Elka Witmer and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Felice Witmer as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
