SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Marilyn Elizabeth McAulay, who passed
away on December 18, 2018 at the age of 90; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was born on April 3, 1928 and
spent most of her life in Elmwood Park; she was a longtime
member of the First United Church of Oak Park; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was the co-founder of the Elmwood
Park Civic Chorus and was active in the Mills Belles and Beaux;
she was a member of the MacDowell Artists Association, a
non-profit organization founded in 1934 which holds annual
auditions for high school seniors in order to grant
scholarships to help further their post-graduation musical
studies, co-sponsors the Sing-Along Messiah, and holds
musicales in the homes of members; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was married for 65 years to the
late Kenneth J. McAulay and was the sister of the late Jeanette
(Roy) McSay; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was the mother of James K.
McAulay; the aunt of Dr. Robert (Ganka) McSay and Lawrence
(Susan Gregerson) McSay; and the great-great-aunt of Alex,

Laura, and Kelin; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Marilyn Elizabeth McAulay and extend our sincere condolences to
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Marilyn McAulay as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
