SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marilyn Elizabeth McAulay, who passed
4away on December 18, 2018 at the age of 90; and
5 WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was born on April 3, 1928 and
6spent most of her life in Elmwood Park; she was a longtime
7member of the First United Church of Oak Park; and
8 WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was the co-founder of the Elmwood
9Park Civic Chorus and was active in the Mills Belles and Beaux;
10she was a member of the MacDowell Artists Association, a
11non-profit organization founded in 1934 which holds annual
12auditions for high school seniors in order to grant
13scholarships to help further their post-graduation musical
14studies, co-sponsors the Sing-Along Messiah, and holds
15musicales in the homes of members; and
16 WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was married for 65 years to the
17late Kenneth J. McAulay and was the sister of the late Jeanette
18(Roy) McSay; and
19 WHEREAS, Marilyn McAulay was the mother of James K.
20McAulay; the aunt of Dr. Robert (Ganka) McSay and Lawrence
21(Susan Gregerson) McSay; and the great-great-aunt of Alex,

1Laura, and Kelin; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Marilyn Elizabeth McAulay and extend our sincere condolences to
5her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Marilyn McAulay as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
