2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John Hade Schwarte of Alton, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 1, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Schwarte was born in Quincy to Albert Bernard | ||||||
6 | and Hellen "Nell" Hade Schwarte on July 17, 1927; he was | ||||||
7 | baptized at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church; he graduated | ||||||
8 | from Little Rock College in Little Rock, Arkansas and married | ||||||
9 | Elizabeth "Betty" Daniels at St. Mary's Church in Alton on | ||||||
10 | September 15, 1956; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, John Schwarte was employed by the United States | ||||||
12 | Social Security Administration for 30 years as a field | ||||||
13 | representative in the Alton District Office; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, After retirement, Jack Schwarte was an | ||||||
15 | eucharistic minister and lector at Ss. Peter and Paul Prot - | ||||||
16 | Cathedral Church; he was a daily adorer at San Damiano | ||||||
17 | Adoration Chapel and volunteered at the Crisis Food Center and | ||||||
18 | OSF St. Anthony's Health Center as a courier and later as a | ||||||
19 | hospice volunteer for 16 years; and

20 | WHEREAS, John Schwarte was a lifetime member of the Alton | ||||||
21 | Knights of Columbus Council 460; he was active in the St. |

1 | Vincent de Paul Society, first with St. Mary's Parish then with | ||||||
2 | Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, where he was parish Treasurer and | ||||||
3 | Alton Deanery President; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, John Schwarte was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, John Schwarte is survived by his wife of 60 years, | ||||||
7 | Betty; his children and their spouses, Jack and Laurie | ||||||
8 | Schwarte, Mary and Quint Ehley, Patrick and Jennifer Schwarte, | ||||||
9 | Anne Schwarte, Katy Schwarte, Joseph and Melanie Schwarte, and | ||||||
10 | Dr. Michael and Ying Schwarte; his grandchildren, Emily Ehley, | ||||||
11 | Alex, Molly, Hannah, and Abby Schwarte, and Grace, Joy, and | ||||||
12 | Olivia Schwarte; and his sister, Dr. Barbara Schwarte and her | ||||||
13 | husband, Dr. James Hutter; therefore, be it

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
16 | John Hade Schwarte, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
17 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
18 | further

19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
20 | presented to the family of John Schwarte as an expression of | ||||||
21 | our deepest sympathy.
