Bill Title: Proposes to amend the Legislature Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that a person may not hold the office of State Senator or State Representative for more than 10 years in each office. Provides that service before the second Wednesday in January 2021 shall not be considered in the calculation of a person's service. Proposes to amend the Executive Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that no elected officer of the Executive Branch may hold office for more than 10 years in each Executive Branch office. Provides that service before the second Monday in January of 2019 shall not be considered in the calculation of a person's service. Effective upon being declared adopted.

1 | SECTION 2. TERMS
| ||||||
2 | These elected officers of the Executive Branch shall hold | ||||||

four years beginning on the second Monday of | ||||||

election and, except in the case of the | ||||||
5 | Lieutenant Governor, until their
successors are qualified. | ||||||
6 | They shall be elected at the general election
in 1978 and every | ||||||
7 | four years thereafter. No elected officer of the Executive | ||||||

9 | Branch office. Service before the second Monday in January of | ||||||
