SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
105 ILCS 302/23 new

Amends the College and Career Success for All Students Act. Provides that a student who is enrolled at a college or university located in this State that is supported or maintained in whole or in part by public funds and who took an Advanced Placement course in high school and obtained a minimum score of 3, on a 5-point scale, on the corresponding Advanced Placement Examination shall receive postsecondary course credit from that college or university. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The College and Career Success for All Students
5Act is amended by adding Section 23 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 302/23 new)
7 Sec. 23. Postsecondary course credit required.
8 (a) In this Section, "institution of higher education"
9means a college or university located in this State that is
10supported or maintained in whole or in part by public funds.
11 (b) A student enrolled at an institution of higher
12education who took an Advanced Placement course in high school
13and obtained a minimum score of 3, on a 5-point scale, on the
14corresponding Advanced Placement Examination shall receive
15postsecondary course credit from that institution.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17becoming law.
