775 ILCS 5/7-109.1 from Ch. 68, par. 7-109.1

Amends the Illinois Human Rights Act. Provides that the Department of Human Rights may administratively close an allegation contained in a charge pending before the Department if the issues which are the basis of the allegation are being litigated in a State or federal court proceeding.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Human Rights Act is amended by
5changing Section 7-109.1 as follows:
6 (775 ILCS 5/7-109.1) (from Ch. 68, par. 7-109.1)
7 Sec. 7-109.1. Federal or State Court Proceedings. The
8Department may administratively close a charge pending before
9the Department or an allegation contained in a charge pending
10before the Department if the issues which are the basis of the
11charge or allegation are being litigated in a State or federal
12court proceeding.
