| 1 | | AN ACT concerning health.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 1. References to Act. This Act may be referred to |
| 5 | | as the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Act.

| 6 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 7 | | Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 8 | | amended by adding Section 2310-730 as follows:

| 9 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-730 new) |
| 10 | | Sec. 2310-730. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness |
| 11 | | Program. |
| 12 | | (a) Subject to appropriation, the Department of Public |
| 13 | | Health, in conjunction with experts in the field of Duchenne |
| 14 | | muscular dystrophy, shall develop mandatory protocols and best |
| 15 | | practices for providing the necessary medical guidance for |
| 16 | | Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Illinois. |
| 17 | | (b) To raise awareness about Duchenne muscular dystrophy, |
| 18 | | the protocols and best practices developed by the Department |
| 19 | | under subsection (a): |
| 20 | | (1) shall be published on a designated and publicly |
| 21 | | accessible webpage; |
| 22 | | (2) shall include up-to-date information about |
