1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5changing Section 3-2 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/3-2) (from Ch. 23, par. 3-2)
7 Sec. 3-2. Conditions for basic maintenance grants to
8persons receiving institutional care. A resident of a public or
9private home or institution maintained for the the care of
10persons who are sick, convalescent, infirm or chronically ill,
11may, if otherwise qualified, be granted financial aid for basic
12maintenance, subject to the rules and regulations of the
13Illinois Department, if the facilities of the home or
14institution are in conformity with standards prescribed by the
15Department of Public Health for safeguarding the health,
16safety, and comfort of the residents thereof, and provide such
17services as may be prescribed by the Illinois Department for
18enhancing their rehabilitation or increasing their capacity
19for self-care.
