2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The University Credit and Retail Sales Act is |
5 | | amended by changing Section 2 as follows:

7 | | Sec. 2. Enforcement; violations. Whenever the

State institution of higher learning |

any method, |
12 | | act or practice in violation of this Act and that proceedings

13 | | would be in the public interest, he may bring an action in the |

State against any person or retail store operated |
15 | | by a State institution of
higher learning or operated on |
16 | | property held or leased for the use of the
institution to |
17 | | restrain and prevent any violation of this Act. In the

18 | | enforcement of this Act, the Attorney General may accept an |
19 | | assurance of
discontinuance of any act or practice deemed in |
20 | | violation of this Act from
any person or retail store operated |
21 | | by a State institution of higher
learning or operated on |
22 | | property held or leased for the use of the
institution engaging |
23 | | in, or that has engaged in, that act or practice.
