Amends the Animal Welfare Act. 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Animal Welfare Act is amended by adding
5Section 3.9 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 605/3.9 new)
7 Sec. 3.9. Kennels; fire suppression system. An
8establishment where dogs or dogs and cats are maintained for
9boarding, training, or a similar purpose for a fee or
10compensation that is not staffed at all times must be equipped
11with a fire sprinkler or other fire suppression system.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect June 1,
