Bill Title: Amends the University of Illinois Hospital Act and Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that a hospital shall maintain a metal detector at each point of entry into the hospital. Provides that a hospital shall ensure that all members of the public, other than the employees of the hospital who display proper credentials, who enter the hospital at a point of entry are subjected to screening by a metal detector. Provides that individuals subject to screening shall include, but not be limited to, individuals in wheelchairs. Defines "point of entry". Effective July 1, 2019.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by adding Section 6.7 as follows:

7 | Sec. 6.7. Metal detectors required. As used in this | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | Section, "point of entry" means an entrance accessible to the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | public. "Point of entry" does not include ambulance entrances. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | The University of Illinois Hospital shall maintain a metal | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | detector at each point of entry into the University of Illinois | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | Hospital. The University of Illinois Hospital shall ensure that | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
