AN ACT concerning regulation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
Section 9-254 as follows:
(220 ILCS 5/9-254 new)
Sec. 9-254. Winter to summer rates. Notwithstanding any
provision of law to the contrary, a public utility providing
electric service to less than 800,000 customers may not charge
non-residential customers a rate from June through September
that is more than 10% higher than the rate charged from October
through May.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
