1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives are pleased to honor Representative Paul Evans
4		on his service and accomplishments in the General Assembly and
5		his commitment to the people of the 102nd District; and
6		WHEREAS, Representative Evans received his bachelor's
7		degree and his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University;
8		and
9		WHEREAS, Representative Evans is a practicing attorney and
10		is the principal attorney of Evans Law Firm; and
11		WHEREAS, Representative Evans has served as a Zoning
12		Hearing Officer for the cities of O'Fallon and New Baden; and
13		WHEREAS, Representative Evans served on the Metro-East
14		Parks and Recreation District Board for 10 years and helped
15		found the O'Fallon Early Childhood Educational Foundation; and
16		WHEREAS, Representative Evans served on the St. Teresa
17		Catholic School Board and was appointed to the Catholic Diocese
18		of Belleville's Catholic Education Initiative as one of 5
19		committee chairs; he remains an active member of the Sunrise
20		Rotary O'Fallon Morning Club and the Spina Bifida Association;

1		and
2		WHEREAS, Representative Evans is a member of the Human
3		Services and Public Safety Appropriations Committees; he also
4		served on the Small Business Empowerment & Workforce, Tourism &
5		Conventions, Consumer Protection, Environmental Health, and
6		Labor Committees during the 97th General Assembly; and
7		WHEREAS, Representative Evans passed legislation which was
8		signed into law requiring the Department of Children and Family
9		Services to release all documents, records, and books created
10		or used in the investigation of a child's life-threatening
11		injury or death; and
12		WHEREAS, Representative Evans sponsored legislation that
13		strengthened child protection laws, stopped pension fund
14		abuse, reduced State fees, and eliminated the abused General
15		Assembly scholarship program; and
16		WHEREAS, Representative Evans remains a steadfast advocate
17		in the legislature and in the community protecting children,
18		disabled adults, and the elderly from abuse and harm; and
19		WHEREAS, Representative Evans and his wife, Sandra, have 3
20		children, Loryn, Erin, and Bryce; therefore, be it

1		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2		NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3		we thank and honor our friend and colleague, Illinois State
4		Representative Paul Evans, for his public service and wish him
5		the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
6		RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7		presented to Representative Evans as a symbol of our respect
8		and esteem.
