2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of David L. |
4 | | "Monty" Rea of Whittington, who passed away on October 15, |
5 | | 2014; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, David Rea was born on April 5, 1957 in Benton; his |
7 | | parents were David R. and Carole (nee Taylor) Rea; he married |
8 | | Marsha (nee Whittington) Rea on August 4, 1979 in Benton; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, David Rea was in the original group that organized |
10 | | the Ewing-Northern Fire Protection District and was the only |
11 | | chief of the District from 1992 until his passing; he began |
12 | | coal mining in 1979 and most recently worked at the Night Hawk |
13 | | Coal Company; he was also an 18-year member of the |
14 | | Ewing-Northern Grade School Board and was a member of the Ewing |
15 | | Township Board from 1982 until his passing; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, David Rea was a member of Whittington Baptist |
17 | | Church; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, David Rea enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and |
19 | | spending time with his family, especially his grandsons; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, David Rea was preceded in death by his |
|

1 | | father-in-law, Noel Whittington, and his grandparents, Verbal |
2 | | and Anna Belle Rea and Kenneth and Viola Taylor; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, David Rea is survived by his wife, Marsha; 2 |
4 | | daughters, Whitney (Johnny) Winstead and Haley (Cory) Smith; 3 |
5 | | grandchildren, Bentley Rea Smith, Blakely Pavin Smith, and |
6 | | Sawyer Michael Winstead; his parents, David and Carole Rea; a |
7 | | sister, Diana (Keith) Ing; his mother-in-law, J. Irene |
8 | | Whittington; a grandmother, Edith Taylor; a brother-in-law, |
9 | | Mike (Donna) Whittington; and 4 nieces and nephews, Marci, |
10 | | Eric, Lindsay, and Nathaniel; therefore, be it
|
11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
12 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
13 | | we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of |
14 | | David L. "Monty" Rea; and be it further

15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
16 | | presented to the family of David Rea as an expression of our |
17 | | sympathy.
