| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the | ||||||
| 4 | Salt Fork High School Class 1A Girls Track and Field Team, the | ||||||
| 5 | Storm, on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class 1A State | ||||||
| 6 | Championship; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Last year, the Storm came up five points short of | ||||||
| 8 | winning the State championship; this year, the Storm was able | ||||||
| 9 | to raise the State title trophy for the first time in school | ||||||
| 10 | history; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The Storm has enjoyed many accomplishments this | ||||||
| 12 | year, including wins at the Vermilion County Meet and the | ||||||
| 13 | Vermilion Valley Conference Meet; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The members of the Storm scored well at the State | ||||||
| 15 | meet; Abby Nicholson placed fourth in Shot Put and sixth in | ||||||
| 16 | Discus; Katie Witte placed fifth in Discus; Jenny Kimbro placed | ||||||
| 17 | first in the 100-Meter High Hurdles and set a new meet school | ||||||
| 18 | record, breaking her old record that was set last year; Ms. | ||||||
| 19 | Kimbro also placed first in the 300-Meter Low Hurdles, breaking | ||||||
| 20 | her own record that was set last year, and placed first in the | ||||||
| 21 | Long Jump and third in the 200-Meter Dash; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Storm's coaches include Herb Wilkins, | ||||||
| 2 | assistant coach and throws coach, Andrea Palmer, assistant | ||||||
| 3 | coach, Phil Suprenant, head boys coach and assistant coach for | ||||||
| 4 | the girls, and Gail Biggerstaff, head coach, led an outstanding | ||||||
| 5 | team to victory; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 7 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 8 | congratulate the Salt Fork High School Class 1A Girls Track and | ||||||
| 9 | Field Team, the Storm, on their outstanding performance, honor | ||||||
| 10 | them for their hard work and determination, and wish them many | ||||||
| 11 | more years of continued success on and off the track; and be it | ||||||
| 12 | further

| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution is | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the Storm as a symbol of our admiration and | ||||||
