| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Ken and Carol Unes on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Kenneth James Unes was working as a letter carrier | ||||||
| 6 | for the United States Postal Service and serving as a member of | ||||||
| 7 | the United States Army Reserve when he met Carol Ann Bonucchi | ||||||
| 8 | in September of 1966; Carol was studying to become a registered | ||||||
| 9 | nurse at the Saint Francis School of Nursing; they were married | ||||||
| 10 | at the Sacred Heart Church in Granville on October 26, 1968; | ||||||
| 11 | they had three children, Gregory Anthony Unes, Philip Anthony | ||||||
| 12 | Unes, and Cynthia Ann Unes-Carter and eight grandchildren, | ||||||
| 13 | Morgan Nicole Anderson, Grant Anthony Anderson,
Philip James | ||||||
| 14 | Unes Jr.,
Abigail Elizabeth Unes,
Alexander Anthony Unes,

| 15 | Brendan Anthony Unes,
Anthony Matthew Unes, and
Isabella Ann | ||||||
| 16 | Unes; and

| 17 | WHEREAS, Ken Unes worked as a letter carrier for over 33 | ||||||
| 18 | years; he retired from the United States Postal Service in 1992 | ||||||
| 19 | and began working as a bailiff at the Peoria County Courthouse, | ||||||
| 20 | where he still works after over 25 years; he also worked as a | ||||||
| 21 | bus driver for Peoria Charter Coach from 1993 to 2016; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Carol Unes worked as an operating room nurse at | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | OSF Saint Francis Medical Center from 1967 until 2014; she also | ||||||
| 2 | spent 17 years traveling around the State of Illinois for the | ||||||
| 3 | American Red Cross performing tissue procurement for tissue | ||||||
| 4 | donors; upon retirement, she worked for three years as an | ||||||
| 5 | operating room nurse at the Great Plains Orthopedics Ambulatory | ||||||
| 6 | Surgery Center; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Ken and Carol Unes renewed their vows for their | ||||||
| 8 | 50th wedding anniversary at the St. Monica Church in East | ||||||
| 9 | Peoria and celebrated their long union with family and friends | ||||||
| 10 | at the Itoo Society in Peoria on Saturday October 27th 2018; | ||||||
| 11 | therefore, be it

| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 14 | congratulate Ken and Carol Unes on their 50th wedding | ||||||
| 15 | anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be | ||||||
| 16 | it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to Ken and Carol Unes as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 19 | esteem.
