HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to honor those who will be taking part in
4the first all Vietnam Veterans Honor Flight, the "Welcome Home
5Tour"; and
6 WHEREAS, The name "Welcome Home Tour" was selected due to
7the fact that many Vietnam Veterans never received a "welcome
8home" or "thank you" for their service to their country; and
9 WHEREAS, The trip will be to Washington, D.C. to see the
10Vietnam Memorial, other major monuments and memorials, and a
11wreath laying on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; the trip will
12conclude on Veteran's Day; and
13 WHEREAS, The trip will include Honor Guards, Patriot
14Guards, and a flag ceremony to honor the Vietnam Veterans who
15gave their lives in service of the country; each veteran will
16receive a flag which has flown over the capital and they will
17have "mail call" on their return flight; and
18 WHEREAS, The veterans who will be taking part on the trip
19are Curtis Dale Beeding, James William Crawford, Brian Douglas
20Cummings, Herbert James Eutsler, Larry Eugene Fitchner,
21Richard Bryant Fuller, Dennis Michael Galitz, Keith Eugene

1Grim, Max A. Kauffman, Larry Ervin Knock, James Merlin Larson,
2Kenneth L. Meeker, Timothy Lee Mendenhall, Ronald David Miller,

7 WHEREAS, Those that made this event possible are Bob Stone,

9Horton, and Dr. Barbara J. Schriver, D.N.; therefore, be it
10 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we honor the Vietnam Veterans who will be a part of the first
13Honor Flight in the U.S., thank them for their service and give
14them the welcome they deserve; and be it further
15 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the veterans of the first Honor Flight as an
17expression of our esteem and respect.
