HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Brad Vinyard on earning a
4bronze medal at the World's Strongest Disabled Man competition
5in Norway on September 8, 2018; and
6 WHEREAS, 22 years ago, Brad Vinyard, a three-sport senior
7athlete at Harrisburg High School was diagnosed with
8osteosarcoma; this led to a knee replacement and then a leg
9amputation; and
10 WHEREAS, Brad Vinyard did not let his diagnosis or his
11disability slow him down and maintained a continued dedication
12to competitive sports; and
13 WHEREAS, Brad Vinyard's reasons for competing have never
14been about trophies, medals, or awards; he desires to motivate
15those who might be struggling with a difficulty in their lives;
16and
17 WHEREAS, After a few weeks to recover, Brad Vinyard will be
18back in the gym prepping for his next event; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
20HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
