| 2 | WHEREAS, The mission of the Polish American Foundation is | ||||||
| 3 | to "Promote Poland in America, and America in Poland" by | ||||||
| 4 | working to bring cooperation between representatives of | ||||||
| 5 | governments in Poland and in the United States; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Polish American Foundation is strongly | ||||||
| 7 | engaged in the promotion of Poland as an attractive tourist
| ||||||
| 8 | destination by highlighting its culture, and by strengthening | ||||||
| 9 | the image of Poland as a modern country, with
a strong and | ||||||
| 10 | distinctive national identity built on the foundation of a rich | ||||||
| 11 | heritage; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Polish American Foundation's program "A Bond | ||||||
| 13 | Between Cultures" supports economic development
to increase | ||||||
| 14 | United States investment in Poland, aiding local | ||||||
| 15 | entrepreneurship in the development of communities
in Poland; | ||||||
| 16 | and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" creates opportunities | ||||||
| 18 | for Polish
entrepreneurs, institutions, and universities to | ||||||
| 19 | connect with their United States colleagues, and vice versa; | ||||||
| 20 | and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" works on strengthening | ||||||

| 1 | the role
and importance of Poland by promoting Polish and | ||||||
| 2 | Polish-American achievements in the economic,
scientific, and | ||||||
| 3 | cultural communities of the United States; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" works towards the | ||||||
| 5 | greater social
engagement of Americans living in Poland, as | ||||||
| 6 | well as the Polish living in the United States; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" has been dedicated to
| ||||||
| 8 | strengthening the integration between Polish Americans and | ||||||
| 9 | Poland in order to develop contacts and
cooperation between | ||||||
| 10 | these communities; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, "A Bond Between Cultures" has helped improve | ||||||
| 12 | access to and
the proper use of the American system of justice | ||||||
| 13 | by Polish citizens residing in the United States; therefore, be | ||||||
| 14 | it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 16 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we congratulate the Polish American Foundation and its program | ||||||
| 18 | "A Bond Between Cultures" on bridging the gap between Poland | ||||||
| 19 | and the Polish American communities within the United States; | ||||||
| 20 | and be it further

| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
