HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Jim Cristman on the
4occasion of his retirement as Vice President of Refining for
5CITGO; and
6 WHEREAS, Jim Cristman started at the Lemont Refinery in
71980 and is retiring after 38 years of service and the
8operation of the facility by three different companies; and
9 WHEREAS, Jim Cristman began working for the Union Oil
10Company of California as a process operator; he was promoted to
11management as a shift supervisor in 1984 and then to unit
12supervisor in hydrotreating in 1988; over the next 20 years, he
13held positions as training manager, area manager, operations
14manager, and general manager of operations and maintenance; in
152008, he became the Vice President and General Manager of the
16Lemont Refinery; he has served as the Vice President of
17Refining for CITGO since late in 2017; and
18 WHEREAS, Jim Cristman has served on a variety of local
19business committees including the executive committee of the
20Three Rivers Manufacturers' Association, where he was chairman
21for two terms; he was also a member of the American Petroleum
22Institute's Operating Practices Committee from 2010 to 2018; he

1has supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association which has led
2to the development of many new initiatives and has helped the
3local chapter achieve multiple fundraising records; and
4 WHEREAS, Jim Cristman and his wife, Cheryl, live in Downers
5Grove and are the parents of four adult children; therefore, be
6it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9congratulate Jim Cristman on his retirement as Vice President
10of Refining for CITGO, and we wish him the best in all his
11future endeavors; and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Jim Cristman as a symbol of our respect and
14esteem.
