2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives
are saddened to learn of the passing of Bradley | ||||||
4 | H. Veerman, a
devoted public servant and esteemed member of the | ||||||
5 | community who
embodied the truest and most valiant virtues of a | ||||||
6 | champion of
public safety; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was born in Joliet to June | ||||||
8 | (Bailey)
and Arthur H. Veerman Jr. on October 6, 1963; at the | ||||||
9 | age of 16, he started his
career with Kurtz Ambulance; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Prior to his passing, Bradley Veerman was the
| ||||||
11 | current Executive Director of the Laraway 9-1-1 Communications
| ||||||
12 | Center and a Will County Forest Preserve Police Officer, two
| ||||||
13 | positions that he carried out with the utmost respect and
| ||||||
14 | honor; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a former Communications | ||||||
16 | Center Director at
the Lincolnway Public Safety 9-1-1; he was a | ||||||
17 | member of the East Joliet
Fire Protection District for 23 | ||||||
18 | years, where he retired as captain; he was a police officer for | ||||||
19 | the cities of Frankfort and New Lenox; he was an employee at | ||||||
20 | the
New Lenox Communications Center and a former member of the | ||||||
21 | Argonne National
Laboratory Fire Department; and

1 | WHEREAS, In addition to serving the community through his | ||||||
2 | public
safety roles, Bradley Veerman volunteered his time | ||||||
3 | whenever and wherever he could in order to improve and protect | ||||||
4 | his community; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a member of the Ingalls Park | ||||||
6 | A.C., a member and past
president of the New Lenox Fire | ||||||
7 | Protection District Trustees, a member
and past president of | ||||||
8 | the New Lenox and Frankfort F.O.P., and past
president of the | ||||||
9 | East Joliet Fire Protection District Volunteer
Organization; | ||||||
10 | he served as a volunteer for numerous
organizations and was a | ||||||
11 | member of many boards; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman leaves behind a great number of | ||||||
13 | family, friends, and neighbors; he was the beloved husband of | ||||||
14 | April (Pearcy); the loving father of Nicole Veerman and Kevin | ||||||
15 | Veerman; and the brother of Arthur "Butch" (Rachel) Veerman III | ||||||
16 | and Kathy
(Duane) Hall-Roy; and

17 | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman's legacy lies in his
genuine | ||||||
18 | commitment to and care for his neighbor; therefore, be it
| ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
20 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
21 | mourn the
loss of Bradley H. Veerman and celebrate his great
| ||||||
22 | accomplishments; and be it further

to his family as a symbol of our deepest sympathy.
