HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Freeport Noon Rotary
4Club on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, The Freeport Noon Rotary Club was organized on
6November 4, 1918 and admitted into Rotary International on
7January 1, 1919; the club became number 437 in District 6420,
8bounded by the Mississippi River and the Wisconsin border; and
9 WHEREAS, Rotary International is an organization of
10business and professional persons united worldwide who provide
11humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all
12vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world;
13there are over 1.2 million Rotarians belonging to more than
1430,000 Rotary clubs in 166 countries; and
15 WHEREAS, Over its 100 years of existence, the Freeport Noon
16Rotary Club has been active and supportive in its community; it
17has supported organizations, including the Boy Scouts,
18Freeport Little League, Freeport Youth Ball, and the Freeport
19High School Concert Choir; it has provided scholarships to
20local high school and college students and clothing to
21disadvantaged youth; and

1 WHEREAS, In addition to supporting extensive Rotary-based
2activities like the Interact Club at Aquin High School, the
3Rotaract Club at Malcolm Eaton Enterprises and the
4International Student Exchange, the Freeport Noon Rotary Club
5also contributes to international issues such as water,
6literacy, and polio eradication programs; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9congratulate the Freeport Noon Rotary Club on its 100th
10anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be
11it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the Freeport Noon Rotary Club as a symbol of our
14respect and esteem.
