2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark W. | ||||||
4 | Harlow of Kinsman, who passed away on April 19, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was born in Streator on July 30, 1954; | ||||||
6 | he grew up on his family's farm, where he grew corn and raised | ||||||
7 | sheep as part of his 4-H and FFA projects; he continued to help | ||||||
8 | on the family farm before retiring from farming in 2017; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow attended Kinsman Grade School and | ||||||
10 | Mazon High School; he later married Doreen Mills in Dwight on | ||||||
11 | August 19, 1989; together, the couple had two children, Kaitlyn | ||||||
12 | and Perry; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was a longtime public official in | ||||||
14 | Grundy County; he served as Mayor of Kinsman for 30 years; he | ||||||
15 | also served as the Highland Township Road Commissioner; in | ||||||
16 | addition, he was a member of the Grundy County Farm Bureau and | ||||||
17 | was a volunteer firefighter with the Verona-Kinsman Fire | ||||||
18 | Department; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow will be remembered as someone who | ||||||
20 | would answer the phone at any time of night to help clear a | ||||||
21 | flooded road or a neighbor's driveway after a big snow; he |

1 | loved his International Harvester and Farmall H tractors, as | ||||||
2 | well as snowmobiling with family and friends; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
4 | Elmer; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mark Harlow is survived by his wife, Doreen; his | ||||||
6 | children, Kaitlyn and Perry; his mother, Ruth; and his sisters, | ||||||
7 | Sandy and Sharon; therefore, be it
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
9 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
10 | mourn the passing of Mark W. Harlow and extend our sincere | ||||||
11 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
12 | him; and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Mark Harlow as an expression of our | ||||||
15 | deepest sympathy.
