1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dan Claud
4		"Dan'O" "Dan the Mailman" Belk of Wildwood, who passed away on
5		April 16, 2012; and
6		WHEREAS, He was born September 18, 1958, in Olympia,
7		Washington and has dedicated his life to making people smile;
8		and
9		WHEREAS, The United States Navy benefitted by his 22 years
10		of combined active duty and reserve service; he also worked a
11		dedicated 22 years with the United States Postal Service in
12		Grayslake; most of those years were in The Manor, where Dan's
13		life was touched beyond words by the people residing there; and
14		WHEREAS, He loved the outdoors, where he spent countless
15		hours fishing and hunting; he loved to make people laugh and so
16		many people were blessed by his humor and caring nature; and
17		WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston
18		Jack Belk and Jimmie Nell Massey; and his brother, Bruce Belk;
19		and
20		WHEREAS, He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of

1		31 years, Karen (nee Calvino) Belk; the loving father of Rachel
2		Belk, Katie (Terreance) Holley, and Shaun Belk; and brother of
3		his siblings, David Belk, Jimmy Belk, and Christena (Ronald)
4		Rogers; he is also survived by his in-laws, Jim and Connie
5		Calvino and his entire extended family; therefore, be it
6		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7		NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8		we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Dan
9		Belk; and be it further
10		RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11		presented to the family of Dan Belk as a symbol of our sincere
12		sympathy.
